About Riverfront Art Gallery
The Riverfront Art Gallery is a 1,450 square foot space located on the 4th floor of the Riverfront Library, the main branch of the Yonkers Public Library (YPL) (3D model of gallery).
Riverfront Art Gallery's mission is to encourage all Yonkers residents to explore, experience and appreciate the arts, and to celebrate the city's vibrant art scene and history. It does so through exhibiting contemporary and acclaimed works from established and emerging artists, with a special emphasis on local artists and those that reflect the city's diverse communities. It also facilitates art workshops and lectures for the general public and professional development opportunities for artists. Consistent with the values of the public library that houses it, everybody is welcome to visit the gallery and attend its programs, free of charge.
Haifa Bint-Kadi curates the gallery exhibits and are generally scheduled one year in advance. To contact the gallery, email: thegallery@ypl.org

Bridging Chasms
March 23, 2024 - May 16, 2024
Borders can act as cultural unifiers, allowing for groups to build community around shared experiences and values. They can also separate us in catastrophic ways by perpetuating and fortifying socially constructed divisions between class, politics, accessibility, race, and gender. How do we build community across all forms of these perceived boundaries? This exciting exhibit showcases the many ways that artists have explored themes of hope, healing and inclusivity across global borders. Through sculpture, painting, textiles and installation, artists have sought to eliminate boundaries as they foster community and broaden understanding. Curated by Haifa Bint-Kadi

What the world needs now is Radical Joy! We seek queer-identified artists whose work is centered around the radical act of expressing queer joy.
