3D Printing Policy and Request Form

Complete the form below to submit a 3D print request. Please read all of the information below prior to submitting a request.

Please read the 3D printing policy below for specific information regarding 3D print requests.

  1. Staff will review and prepare all 3D print request files. The Library reserves the right to refuse projects deemed unsafe, harmful or otherwise objectionable, this includes weapons or life-like replicas, parts of weapons, ammunition, and defensive as well as offensive weapons.
  2. Printers will not be used to reproduce objects that are in violation of another’s intellectual property rights; or subject to copyright, patent or trademark protection.
  3. A Yonkers library card or other Westchester Library card is required.
  4. Submitted files must be .STL file types.
  5. Jobs that require multiple printing of components take longer to print. Print requests must contain 3 or less components.
  6. Color is based on availability.
  7. Please allow up to 10 business days to have objects printed. If there is a delay with your object, you will be notified.
  8. You will be contacted by email when the object is ready to be picked up. Items not picked up within 30 days become the property of the library.
  9. If the object is delicate, you must remove your own rafts and supports.
  10. File must be able to print in 5 hours or less.
  11. Printing is limited to 3 printed items per person, per month.
  12. Currently there is no cost for 3D printing at the Library.
