February is National Heart Month!
Join nurses from NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester (formerly Lawrence Hospital) in Bronxville who will demonstrate how to perform Hands-only CPR. If someone collapses, bystanders can perform this potentially lifesaving action until more specialized help arrives. During the first few minutes of a heart attack, chest compressions can help push oxygen through the body, keeping vital organs working until someone with more skills steps in to help.
Nurses will provide other important heart health education and answer your questions. This free program is co-sponsored by NewYork-Presbyterian Westchester, the Yonkers NNORC, and the Yonkers Public Library, and all are welcome to attend.
