National Library Card Sign-Up Month

The month of September marks the end of summer - the temperature starts to cool, kids go back to school, and summer vacations become a distant memory. But September also kicks off National Library Card Sign-Up Month.

You can register in-person or online to get your library card. Any resident of Westchester can get a library card for their city or town. The Yonkers Public Library has three amazing branches - Riverfront, Grinton I. Will, and Crestwood. Residents of the Bronx can register for a library card with the Yonkers Public Library. Even non-residents of Westchester can register for a card!

Your library card is a powerful tool that gives you access to thousands of books, movies and music from the library.

Apps like Libby, Hoopla and Kanopy are connected through your library card to give you access to thousands of e-books, audiobooks, movies, TV shows and music albums from any digital device.

Through our Museum Pass Program, your library card gets you free admission to participating museums including the Hudson River Museum, the American Museum of Natural History, the Storm King Art Center, and many more!

Your library card also grants you access to several online databases, including the Gale Courses, which offers hundreds of online, instructor-led courses in professional development, technology, and personal enrichment courses. You can check out all of the digital resources that YPL offers online.

The library is your key to open the door to reading, learning and culture in Yonkers and beyond. Let all your friends and family know about all of the benefits of having a library card and sign up at your local branch today!
