All YPL locations will close at 12 pm on Tuesday, December 24 and remain closed on Wednesday, December 25 in observance of Christmas.

National Online Learning Day 2023

September 15th is National Online Learning Day, a celebration of the wide variety of learning resources available to students online.

The Covid-19 pandemic completely changed education as many students transitioned to online learning and virtual classrooms. Video-conferencing platforms, virtual tutoring, language apps and other learning software have made it possible for students of all ages to learn at home without being in a classroom.

Whether you’re still in school or you consider yourself a lifelong learner, the Yonkers Public Library has a wide variety of resources available to you so you can celebrate Online Learning Day not just today, but every day.

If you’re looking to learn something new or freshen up your skills, be sure to check out Gale Courses. There are over 360 instructor-led courses, ranging from accounting and business to healthcare to personal development, and many more. Courses run for six weeks and there are new sessions every month.

Want to bulk up your resume for job applications? Check out LinkedIn Learning. There are a wide variety of interactive lessons on technology, creative and business topics. Develop skills in social media marketing, coding, video editing, and more!

Chilton Service Manuals

Looking to learn how to take care of your own vehicle so you don’t always have to rely on a mechanic? Chilton Service Manuals offers videos on repair instructions for a wide variety of make and model combinations for most popular cars and trucks from the past 30 years. The Chilton Library also offers scheduled maintenance intervals, labor estimating, recalls and service bulletins.

DMV Practice Tests

If you’re trying to get your driver’s license, a motorcycle license, or a commercial driver's license (CDL), you can access free online practice tests 

Learning Express 

In Learning Express, students and adult learners can improve their skills required for academic and career success. Some practice tests include TASC, SAT, PSAT, ACT, AP, career certification tests such as NCLEX-RN, Praxis I and II, and more.
